In 2009, I damaged my sacro-iliac joint while pregnant with my 4th baby. I was 40 and accepted that I would likely not recover fully from what seemed to be a permanent joint injury. After only a few private sessions with Jillian in 2012, my joint pain disappeared entirely. There was a nagging pain in my same side foot and knee that also vanished. It has been 8 months and even though I don’t do my restorative exercises every day (don’t tell Jillian) and I spend more time than I’ll admit to sitting, the pain has not returned. If you have a long term injury, I suggest trying restorative exercise private lessons. Jillian can assess your posture and target exercsies designed especially for you. A small investment in restorative exercise ultimately saves time and money!

In just one week of practicing what I learned, my pelvic floor has gotten better.  I only have to pee once before bed, and not again until the morning!  I don’t need to take extra breaks at work to go to the bathroom!  I really couldn’t believe it.  I don’t have to pee so frequently, and I have more control over when I go, I don’t always have to run to the bathroom right away.

I had been looking for a home-based fitness program for some time, but had not found anything satisfactory that met my specific needs and goals. Then I attended one of Jillian’s talks out of pure curiosity, and was impressed not only by what I learned about body alignment, but also by what I saw. Jillian was fantastic at providing me with hands-on and verbal descriptions on the spot and without any prior notice that there would be a blind person attending the session. I decided then and there that this was the program for me!

During our subsequent sessions, I was introduced to specific stretches to alleviate muscle tension, which is particularly uncomfortable in my neck and shoulders. I enjoy the combination of movement and mental focus that are such integral components of this technique. One amazing side benefit I did not anticipate was learning a specific stretch that enabled me to gain incredible insight into the physical sensations produced during an anxiety attack, something which is helping me deal with these situations.

What makes these sessions so unique is Jillian’s sense of intuition and highly creative approach. For example, she has used props as additional aids to help me position myself appropriately for a particular stretch, since I cannot rely on visual alignment cues. This is a wonderful program that I would recommend to anyone, regardless of age, gender or level of ability.

I have been taking some restorative exercise classes with Jillian. My core felt very weak and unable to support myself after my second pregnancy. Over 2 years later, I still looked 4 months pregnant. I feel much stronger right now. With the postural habit changes I have brought my diastasis back together. It was still 3 fingers wide at 2 years 7 months postpartum, and now after the postural changes, is less than one finger wide, and I think it looks flatter.

I’ve had heel pain for over a year, and I saw 2 doctors about it, and an orthopedic massage therapist.  Nothing helped.  4 days after my first class, the heel pain was gone and I felt much more stable on my feet.  I can walk around without pain!

I’ve had back pain while laying down for 10 years.  Every morning I have to get up out of bed because it hurts so bad.  After the core class last week, I woke up the next morning without pain!  I was a little stiff, but it was the first time in 10 years that I didn’t wake up with really severe back pain!
